My name is Deep Arora and I've been working to build my internet based business for a number of years now. One of the greatest stumbling blocks I ran into was trying to manage all the aspects of selling multiple prodcts and memberships. I tried using virtuemart (a joomla shopping cart add-on), only to find that I still needed to maintain amember to manage the membership side and this new add-on to complete the sales of the individual digital products.
That meant two separate systems to maintain and two separate databases that needed managing - with no real option for integration between the two systems...
The problem got even worse when I added physical products in 2008. I started using Kunaki to distribute DVDs and once again, I was stuck...Now I had not two, but three systems to run with neither of the initial ones integrating with Kunaki. There was the possibility of another plugin with another large price tag, but by this time I couldn't take it anymore. I was ready for a better way!
By late 2008 I found using a mish-mash of unrelated software was hurting my business (more customer service, more technical hassles, and less income). I needed better ways to manage everything and to get it all to "just work."
After years of using multiple programs that just didn't cut it, not to mention various WordPress and Shopping Cart solutions, I was frustrated with having to use patched together solutions that didn't really integrate into one solid answer...
What I really needed was something that could integrate my product sales, membership sites, as well as my affiliate management... and do it all "under one roof".

Hi Deep. Congratulations for the new site. It’s a HUGE improvement indeed. For others, I wanted to drop a quick note that I bought the “memberpress” add-on few months ago through a special offer and I am so glad I bought it.
I was very skeptical when I bought it and was thinking how this tiny fifty bucks plugin would help me setup multiple membership sites and do what it promised to do.
Since then SMP & this neat plugin just kept impressing me. I was a huge fan of Wishlist but now I’ve moved all 9 membership sites to SMP and MemberPress, with the awesome help and support from Deep and his team.
Those who are reading this, please do not go on the low price of this add-on. It is a monster and does so much more than other $299 priced software. And when you combine it with other add-on (I use MediaVault too), it’s simply insane.
I’m finally glad to see that Deep has increased the price, though it’s still a huge huge bargain for an unlimited site license.

I echo Allan & Shefali’s comments. SMP, with MemberPress, is plain awesome. I use Joomla Member too to run 2 Joomla based membership sites and I cannot tell how easy it is with SMP to run 3 of my WordPress membership sites and 2 of my Joomla membership sites.
It works flawless for me. I just gave out a site design contract to Deep’s team and I’m sure he is going to give me back an awesome site. Can’t wait.

I have a question Deep. I’ve been seeing people raving about your plugin “memberpress” all over the internet, but I don’t understand very clearly that what advantage it has over WishList? What your plugin does that WishList cannot do? I have WishList and apart from the reason that it is a bit complicated to setup and use, what are the differentiating factors?
I’m sorry if I am asking a very basic question, but please show me some light.

I have been in the planning stage, and have researched tons and tons of different available technologies. I am a very detailed person who typically reads, studies, asks a zillion or more questions, and then make a decision.
I have decided to use SiteManPro and MemberPress. The support Deep and his team have provided has been first rate, and I can easily recommend this product!

@Simon - Hi Simon,
WL is a great product, no doubt. And in no way I’m going to tell you that MemberPress is superior than WL. But I will show you few benefits that changes the entire strategy you conduct your membership business online.
1. Centralization - With WL, you need to install it on every WP site that you want to convert in a membership site. So, let’s say you run five different membership sites and you intend to share your customers across those five membership sites, then for each site your members need a separate login account.
With SMP, your members would need just one member account to access all the membership sites for which they purchased the access.
2. Platform Independence - With WL or similar WP plugins, you are stuck with WordPress forever. Imagine that when your business grows, and you want to move away from WP to a more robust CMS platform like ExpressionEngine. How would you do that? Your entire member records, subscriptions remains in WL and you cannot integrate WL with ExpressionEngine or for that matter, with any other CMS (Joomla, Drupal etc).
With SMP, since member records are within SMP core engine, it’s a snap to move your CMS platform (frontend) from WP to Joomla, Drupal or ExpressionEngine by simply buying the add-on for that CMS from us. Currently we have add-on for Joomla. For ExpressionEngine, it will be out shortly.
If you take our example, when SMP was started, our site was running on WordPress. But as our customer base grew, and we wanted more flexibility, there is no way WP could cope up with what we wanted to do on this site. So with this new site (launched last night), we moved to ExpressionEngine. And we don’t have to do any member migration etc. Since SMP core engine manages our customers records, all we did was moved from WP to EE and started using EE Membership Add-on (yet to be released publicly) instead of MemberPress.
3. Task Independence - Every membership software out there is meant for a specific purpose, i.e. to create a membership site for you. What if you want to sell digital goods, or run a helpdesk, or do a project management, or etc etc? WL or other similar products don’t do that.
SMP is modular. It can be scaled infinitely. With our next module analytics and then email automation, you will be having a fully blown sales engine working for your business.
There are tons of small other differences, such as points system, but I think this should give a good enough idea about the capabilities of SMP.

Hi everyone. I’m a MemberPress user for quite some time now and I’ve built three membership sites using this plugin successfully. My membership sites have total of about 1700 members, with members overlap across three sites. I can’t tell you how sophisticated SMP makes the entire process of doing all this.

SMP is a brilliant piece of software. I had been looking for a way to link all my tutorial membership sites and when I came across SMP I knew instantly that I needed to test it.
Having trialed the software on three of my sites I’m happy to say that it’s working well and I’m really impressed with the flexibility and central control.
Also, I had many questions when I was setting the system up initially and Deep provided me with instant support that was not only timely but helpful and acurate.
I run many membership sites and although I use WL Member for certain types of sites, SMP is unbeatable when it comes to running several sites from a central point.
I love the fact that you don’t have to mess about with Paypal button setup as well.
All in all ... a superb product. Well done to the development and support teams! :o)

@Rakesh - SMP keep things simply. So you can have unlimited OTOs by using the return url feature in every product. When you create a product, you can specify the return URL to an OTO page. And you can chain unlimited OTOs that way. If you go through our own sales process you will notice that. You download the free version, but then you are shown few OTOs as well.
Currently, SMP supports Paypal, Clickbank & Nanacast. 2CO and Auth.net are in progress.

@Imayer - MemberPress works with WordPress only. It is a bridge between SMP & WordPress that allows you to build as many membership sites as you want, while controlling all your members from one admin panel.
